Immediate preparation for the reception of First Holy Communion takes place in the second semester of Level 2 (second grade).

CATECHESIS

1.  The children will be led to understand that while the first reception of the Eucharist is special; it is
     so because it is the beginning of a life-long relationship with Jesus.
2.  Parents, as primary educators of their children, are entrusted with the serious responsibility for
     this sacramental preparation as well as ongoing catechesis and formation.
3.  Children are to have at least one year of formal religious education before entering the program.
4.  The children's reception of First Holy Communion should be preceded by the reception of the
     Sacrament of Reconciliation.

IMMEDIATE PREPARATION
1.  Includes an understanding of these concepts:
               a.  To know who Jesus is and the main events in His life.
               b.  To realize Jesus is present in the Eucharistic Bread and Wine.
               c.  To indicate a desire to receive the Eucharist.
2.  Instruction on proper reception of the Eucharist.
